1. About the app

Vízállás displays current water-level information for rivers and lakes in Hungary, together with related news.

The app does not require an account, registration, name, phone number, or email address. The app does not operate its own user-account or application backend.

2. Data stored locally

The app may store the following information locally on the device:

This information is not sent to my own server. Local data can be removed by deleting the app or clearing its app data.

3. External data sources and network connections

The app may retrieve data from external services, including:

Some app features may open external websites. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own data processing.

4. Google AdMob advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve, measure, and protect advertising services, Google and its advertising partners may process technical information such as:

Whether personalized advertising is used depends on applicable consent and opt-out settings.

More information:

5. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)

The app uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage privacy choices related to advertising.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, UMP may display the required privacy-consent messages. Users in applicable US states can manage available opt-out choices through the app’s privacy settings.

Privacy settings are available from Info / Privacy options in the app when UMP determines that a privacy-options entry point is required.

6. Firebase Crashlytics

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect, investigate, and fix crashes and other technical problems.

Crashlytics may process, among other things:

The app does not directly request a name, phone number, or email address.

More information is available in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

Google, Firebase, and the other third-party service providers used by the app provide data protection that is the same as or equivalent to the protection described in this Privacy Policy, as applicable to their services.

7. IDFA and App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, the app asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used. The request appears once advertising is being set up, and the answer can be changed at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

If permission is given, advertising may use the identifier to personalise the ads shown. If it is refused — or if tracking requests are turned off for all apps — advertising still appears, but is not personalised, and the identifier is not used.

Android has no equivalent prompt. There the advertising identifier is governed by the consent choices described above, and it can be reset or deleted in Android Settings under Privacy → Ads.

8. Data retention

Information stored locally by the app remains on the device until the user deletes it, removes the app, or clears the app’s data.

Google AdMob and Firebase Crashlytics process and retain information according to their own privacy, security, and retention policies. According to Firebase, Crashlytics retains certain crash and identifier data for 90 days.

9. Data security

Network communication between the app and external data sources uses secure protocols supported by those services. The relevant data controllers apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request:

Requests may be sent using the controller contact details listed above.

Advertising consent and opt-out preferences can be managed through the app’s privacy settings. Complaints may be submitted to the data-protection authority in your country of residence or location. For users in Hungary, this is the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH).

11. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy when introducing a new feature, SDK, or data-processing practice. The latest version will show a new “Last updated” date.
